Personality defines us. We can either be defined to have a strong, weak, positive, negative, pleasing or displeasing personality. It helps us to influence others or be influenced by others. It inspires us or we inspire them. Or it can be the key to our success or failure.
Have you ever asked yourself what kind of personality you have? Or do you think this kind of personality that you have will help you become successful? I have. And this encourages me to study and discover the traits of successful people around me.
After thorough readings and analysis I found these four traits that they have in common and I believe most of the successful personality possesses:
They have a strong desire. Successful people possesses this strong desire to pursue their dreams. Their wants, their definite purpose and they go after it with a burning desire to achieve it. If you have this strong desire to follow what you want then you are ready to start the path of success.
They are focused. To be successful is to be focused on your goals. Your mind can't and should not wander elsewhere. You need to finish what you already started and don't let it be left hanging because you lost focus. In order to attain this, you've got to set your goals and review these goals everyday making every effort for it to become possible.
They are patient. You can't get rich overnight, a week or a month. Even if it will take you six months to a year or two, the time spent of persevering is all worth it. You need to understand that to become successful you need to invest time. A lot of it. You need to be patient until it is time to harvest what you sow. Many, tried by temporary failure, gave up just when they are about to overcome the test set out for them.
Lastly and most importantly, they are persistent. As the popular belief says, riches come only to those who work hard. To those who are success concious. Persistence is as simple as, if you sell your product to a customer, let's say life insurance, and he says no don't give up easily. You've got to make a sale.
As what Henley says, "I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul", I believe that we all are. We control our own thoughts, desires, emotions and actions. To become successful you need to act now, take time to ponder and know what you really want. Take action, keep focus, be patient and keep on persisting. Your success depends on you. Sail through life and conquer the waves.
